Summer Rain Increases Mosquito Count

The city of Little Rock's waste services have received numerous calls this summer regarding mosquitoes.
LITTLE ROCK, AR- With more rain than usual during these summer months the mosquitoes are out in full force.

The city of Little Rock's waste services have received numerous calls this summer regarding mosquitoes.

Because of the rains they have seen an increase in mosquito count. Those same weather conditions have hindered their abilities to spray to keep those pesky bugs out of the city.

"The rains coming in and it's piling up water out there so the mosquitoes are breeding more then when we try to go out and spray we are limited by wind speeds and whether its raining or not," says Warren Atkins.

Atkins says with the heavy rain during the evening hours they have not been able to spray as often as they would like.
