Up to 2 Inches of Snowfall Forecast for Northern, Central Arkansas

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2 a.m. Saturday.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2 a.m. Saturday for northern and central Arkansas excluding counties along the Missouri border.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says to expect snowfall amounts ranging from a half inch to around two inches. The heaviest snow will fall from the Ouachita Mountains through central Arkansas and into the northeast.

This includes areas from Mena and Hot Springs to Little Rock, Searcy and Augusta.

The snow will start in the west this afternoon and will build across the rest of the state through the evening hours.

Travel conditions should gradually deteriorate as snowfall sticks to roadways quickly due to recent cold temperatures. Travelers are urged to use caution.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow ill cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
