Update: Surveillance Video Shows Prisoner After Escape, ADC Warns Residents to be on Guard

47-year-old convicted murderer Timothy Buffington walked away from a work area at the Pine Bluff unit on Princeton Pike Saturday night. Search crews are still on the hunt for the escapee.


UPDATE:

PINE BLUFF, AR -- Eight days have passed since convicted murderer Timothy Buffington escaped from Pine Bluff Correctional Facility.

And he is still on the run.

Buffington walked away from his work detail last Saturday.

He was serving a 20-year sentence for killing his ex-wife.

Law enforcement continue the diligent search for him on horseback, ATVs and the use of tracking dogs.

Shea Wilson from the Arkansas Department of Correction says they are looking in every possible hiding place.

"We are still trying to look in the wooded areas anywhere he might be holed up and really continuing to put pressure on this area in case he is still right here," Wilson said.

She says he may have grown some facial hair or may be sunburned by now.

Buffington is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities urge anyone that thinks they see someone suspicious that matches Buffington's description to call 911 immediately.

PINE BLUFF, AR - The Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC) has confirmed the surveillance video shows Timothy Buffington, 47, after he escaped from the Pine Bluff unit. In the video you can see Buffington wearing camoflauge and holding a shotgun.

Buffington first knocks on the door and rings the doorbell, but then lowers his shoulder and trys to knock the door down before running off.
 
Search crews are actively canvassing the area looking for potential hiding spots where Buffington might be.

PINE BLUFF, AR - The Arkansas Department of Correction horseback team has joined in the search and vehicle checks are being done in the area in effort to locate convicted murderer and escapee Timothy Buffington.

PINE BLUFF, AR - Timothy Buffington, a trustee inmate assigned to the Pine Bluff Unit, left his work assignment earlier Saturday (6/21) evening and is being searched for in the area of Princeton Pike in Pine Bluff. ADC officers and canines are searching for him and local and state law enforcement agencies have been notified.

A spokesperson for ADC tells Fox 16 Buffington should be considered armed and dangerous.

PINE BLUFF, AR - A convicted murderer has escaped from prison at the Pine Bluff Unit of the Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC).

Authorities are on the lookout for Timothy Buffington, 47. He may also go by "Bo" Buffington. According to the ADC Buffington is 5'6'', weighs 182 pounds and has a tattoo on his right wrist.

ADC records show that Buffington was convicted in Logan County of first degree murder in 1999 and is serving a 20 year sentence.

Buffington's last known address is listed as 192 1st St. in Booneville.
