(Orignal Story, 4:30 p.m.):
ROCKPORT, AR - Crews are currently working to stop a gas leak in Hot Spring County.

The gas leak is off Military Road in Rockport close to about a dozen homes.

We can still near the gas spewing from this ruptured gas line and as we came in you could smell a thick natural gas smell.

If we zoom in you can see some of the heavy machinery crews are using working to get it shut off.

It was about 4:30 this afternoon when crews digging up a tree, hit the 2.5 inch gas line owned by Center Point Energy.

Rockport police and fire have been out here ever since.

The problem they're having is actually locating the line haven't really made any progress on that.

But Rockport Fire Chief Damon Dyer says the risk of an explosion is not very high.

"Very little danger, we went around and let everybody know what was going on and let them make a decision if they needed to go out if they had any kind of health problems that would be affected by the gas," says Dyer.

Take a look you can see some of the markings showing where various gas power and water lines run through here.

I'm told the company doing the digging did the right things before working having the area marked off well apparently the line they hit wasn't marked off.

As for residents living nearby, people living in two homes have left but everyone else is staying.

But definitely no cooking for tonight.
