The quarantine cannot be lifted until 72 hours after the last symptoms have subsided.
"A lot of things people take for granted is the simplest thing but that's where the virus can come in and attack so you have to make sure you're sanitized as best as possible," said Dr. Anissa Evans Buckner.
PINE BLUFF, AR -- In Pine Bluff, family members are being kept away from seeing their loved ones because of a stomach virus outbreak.
The Trinity Village Medical Center has been under a quarantine since last week.
Administrators said staff noticed a pattern of stomach virus symptoms throughout the 80-bed facility. The state health department determined it's a case of norovirus, which causes vomiting and diarrhea.
There's only one way to try to prevent it: washing your hands.
Administrators said the facility will remain under quarantine until three days after the last symptom has been identified.
