Washington, D.C. (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Wizards have acquired veteran point guard Andre Miller from the Denver Nuggets in a three-team swap.

Washington shipped forward Jan Vesely to Denver and guard Eric Maynor to Philadelphia. The 76ers also gained a pair of future second round draft picks, one from each team, to help facilitate the deal, while sending a protected 2014 second-rounder to the Wizards.

Miller, a 15-year vet out of Utah, played a prominent role off Denver's bench for the past two seasons but fell out of the new head coach Brian Shaw's rotation and good graces, missing the team's last 23 games. He is averaging career-lows across the board, including 5.9 points, 3.3 assists and 19 minutes per game but should provide stability behind all-star John Wall.

"Andre is a proven veteran who brings 14 years of experience as a point guard, leader and distributor to solidify our second unit," said Washington president Ernie Grunfeld. "He will be a valuable addition as we make our push over these last 28 games of the season."

Vesely, drafted sixth overall by the Wizards in 2011, failed to make an impact in part of three NBA seasons. A native of Czech Republic, Vesely averaged 3.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 141 career games.

Maynor appeared in 23 games for Washington after signing as a free agent last summer. He averaged just 2.3 points and 1.7 assists per game.

"We appreciate the contributions and professionalism of both Jan and Eric during their time with the Wizards and we wish them both well," said Grunfeld.
