Deputies Arrest Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Girl for 7 Years

Girl says abuse continued from when she was 10 until she was 17.
SEBASTIAN COUNTY, AR -- An arrest has been made into a sexual assault complaint reported in Feb 2012.

According to the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office (SCSO), 41-year-old Russell House, of Lavaca, was taken into custody Thursday morning after new information gave detectives enough evidence to issue a warrant for his arrest.

SCSO says in Feb. 2012, a 20-year-old female reported that she had been sexually assaulted by House since she was 10 years old, and continued until she was 17.

Detectives interviewed House at the time of the report, but he denied any involvement, according to SCSO. Investigators then collected items to search for evidence and followed other leads, but didn't have enough information for an arrest warrant.

According to SCSO, someone came forward with new information in Oct. 2013, which when combined with previous information, was enough to issue the warrant.

Russell House was arrested at his home and taken to the Sebastian County Jail, where he was charged with one count of rape.

His bond was set at $50,000.

SCSO says the investigation is ongoing.
