Suspect in LR Double Shooting a "Threat to Community"

Police are looking for Steven Hayesm 27, and say he is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Update (Jan. 27):
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police say a man they're looking for in a Saturday night shooting death should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

They say Steven Hayes, 27, is a threat to both the community and law enforcement.  

Anyone who sees Hayes is urged not to make contact with him and to call police immediately.

Update (Jan. 26):
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police are looking for a man they say may be connected to the double shooting Saturday night.

Police have obtained warrants for Steven Hayes arrest for alleged 1st degree Murder, Battery 1st and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.

Shoncoven Smith was shot and killed, and another man was shot several times at 3224 Elam around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say Hayes should be considered armed and dangerous.

Original Story (Jan. 25):
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police are working to track down the man responsible for a double shooting in the Capitol City.

Two people were rushed to the hospital after shots rang out at the intersection of Elam and 33rd Street.

Police say 911 calls came pouring in just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday with people telling them a gunman was on the loose in their neighborhood.

Officers told us the suspect shot two men.

The victims haven't been identified yet, but we're told one has life threatening injuries and the other man is in serious condition.

Police say the two men and suspect were arguing on the street before the shooting.

One of the victims did give detectives the name of a possible suspect, but so far he hasn't been arrested.

Tonight detectives are still looking into a possible motive.

Another shooting occurred around the same time at 17th and Elm, but at this point, police don't believe the two shootings are related.
