Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over

Police adding extra officers to the road to look for drunk drivers.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Little Rock police reminding you to be smart as you celebrate this holiday season.

This message after officers say they arrested a drunk man that drove his car into the Statehouse Convention Center early Friday morning.

The building, which sustained at least $15,000 in damage, was still boarded up today.

The Little Rock Police Department is taking part in the "Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over" campaign to prevent accidents like that from happening.

So, leading up to New Years, expect to see extra officers on the streets and more sobriety checkpoints.

Lt. Sidney Allen said, "As you know that's going to be a statewide effort, that they're going to try and get out to make sure if you are drinking and driving you will get caught and you will be pulled over."

26% of highway deaths in Arkansas -- last year -- were alcohol related.
