Escaped Garland County Inmate Recaptured

Lavelle Taylor, 41, reportedly taken back into custody Monday morning.
HOT SPRINGS, AR - An escaped Garland County jail inmate has been caught.

The Garland County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) says at about 9:05 this morning, Lavelle Taylor was captured in the 300 block of Charteroak St., just east of Central Ave.

Units from the Hot Springs Police Department, Arkansas State Police (ASP), Drug Task Force (DTF), and the GCSO converged on the area of Archwood St. after DTF investigators received information that Taylor may be in the area.

An ASP trooper, a GCSO deputy and a DTF investigator took Taylor into custody without incident.

Taylor, 41, had been on the run since Thursday night when he got away from a deputy who was returning him to the jail after being taken to the hospital for unspecified treatment.
