Hearing for Arkansas Death Row Inmate

Andrew Engram, 59, was sentenced to death for 1997 rape and murder of woman in North Little Rock.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A hearing is scheduled today for an inmate on Arkansas Death Row.

Last month, the Arkansas Supreme Court ruled that Andrew Engram, 59, should get a hearing to decide if his lawyers did a good job following his murder conviction.

Engram was convicted in 1999 by a Pulaski County Circuit Court jury for the 1997 killing of Laurie White.

White was found dead outside the Sears store at McCain Mall. Police say she had been raped before she was slain.

Pulaski County Prosecutor Larry Jegley says the ruling is the latest example of capital punishment ignoring victims.
