Hot Springs Man Arrested near Scene of Searcy Robbery

Jacob Aaron Scott, 20, suspected in Thursday night holdup of Valero gas station at Main St.
SEARCY, AR - A Hot Springs man is jailed on a robbery charge after a Searcy store holdup.

The Searcy Police Department says Jacob Aaron Scott, 20, was picked up shortly after the Thursday night robbery of the Valero gas station at Main St. and Booth Rd.

Officers were called to the scene around 7:30. Workers told them a white man wearing a brown hoodie and a dark ski mask was armed with a pistol when he came into the store, walked up to the clerk and demanded money. The suspect then ran from the store.

While searching the area, officers found Scott, who they say matched the description of the suspect. He was walking near the store.

Officers also found a plastic bag as well as a ski mask and handgun matching the description of those used in the robbery near where Scott was walking.

He is charged with aggravated robbery and is being held on $100,000 bond at the White County Detention Center.

Searcy Police say Scott used a BB gun to commit the robbery.
