James Madison to open at Terps, play five at home

<p>James Madison's football team will kick off the Everett Withers era by visiting Maryland and play five home games as part of a 12-game 2014 schedule announced Tuesday.</p>

Harrisonburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - James Madison's football team will kick off the Everett Withers era by visiting Maryland and play five home games as part of a 12-game 2014 schedule announced Tuesday.

Withers was named JMU's new head coach last month.

The Dukes will go to College Park, Md., for their season opener on Aug. 30. The Terrapins have won the two all-time meetings, most recently 38-35 in overtime in 2009.

Saint Francis (Sept. 13) will visit JMU in the Dukes' only non-conference home game on Sept. 13. The Dukes also will host CAA Football opponents Delaware (Sept. 27), Towson (Oct. 11), William & Mary (Nov. 1, Homecoming) and Elon (Nov. 22).

The Dukes' other road games are against Lehigh (Sept. 6) and Charlotte (Oct. 25) in non-conference action, and Villanova (Sept. 20), Albany (Oct. 4), Stony Brook (Nov. 8) and Richmond (Nov. 15) in the CAA.

JMU had a 6-6 record this past season.
