HALLEY, AR -- The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down near the border of Desha and Chicot Counties.
Two truckers were injured on Highway 65 in the area when their vehicles were blown over.
The drivers are being treated at a hospital in McGehee.
Five homes received major damage.
It happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. Saturday as a strong line of storms moves through eastern Arkansas.
John Robinson of the National Weather Service says the tornado track stretches for almost seven miles in a mostly rural area.
The storm also damaged power lines, causing hundreds of people in the area to lose power.
Entergy estimates service should be restored to most customers by 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
