Jacksonville Man Dead After Shooting Friday Night

The shooting happened Friday night around 8:30 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, AR -- A man is dead after being shot near an ATM in downtown Jacksonville, police are looking for the shooter.

23-year-old Marcus Israel died Saturday.

The shooting happened Friday night around 8:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Main.

Jacksonville Police Department was dispatched to shots being fired and a vehicle crash located in the 600 Block of West Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle crashed into a building and the driver, Israel, who had several gunshot wounds.

Israel was transported to a local hospital and died Saturday.

Police believe the suspect used a bicycle for transportation.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators say they are looking for a male, unknown race, medium build, 5’6” to 6’0” wearing white tennis shoes, blue jeans, and a dark, hooded coat.
