LR Board Approves Chimp Exhibit Renovation for Zoo

City leaders approve a contract for improvements on the Chimpanzee exhibit at the zoo.
LITTLE ROCK, AR--Little Rock city leaders agreed to make more space for chimps at the zoo during Tuesday's board meeting meeting.

The city approved a contract for new construction on the apes' exhibit at the Little Rock Zoo. Zoo officials say the project will add a water feature that will make the chimps feel more at home. The new plan also will replace their play set, something they hope will better entertain visitors.

The contract is in the amount of more than $280,000.
