Man Charged in Girlfriend's Murder Bonds Out of Jail

Duck appeared in court Monday for a bond reduction hearing.
GARLAND COUNTY, AR -- Kevin Duck, the man accused of murdering his then-girlfriend and police dispatcher Dawna Natzke in December 2011, has been released from jail, according to officials.

Duck appeared in court Monday for a bond reduction hearing. The judge reduced it from $250,000 to $150,000, and Duck bonded out of Garland County Jail on Tuesday.

Prosecutors believe Duck killed Dawna Natzke back in December 2011.  They obtained cellphone records that show Duck to be near the area where volunteer searchers found Natzke's body two weeks after he reported her missing.

Duck's attorney told us earlier this month he hopes his client will get a bond reduction so they can begin working on the case.

"Because of some of the things they've said in the discovery, there may be a need for some expert witnesses. Obviously we need him out working to help pay for these expert witnesses," said Clay Janske, Duck's attorney.
