Arkansas Ranked 3rd Most Pro-Life State

Brittney Johnson explains how Arkansas earned that ranking.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The Natural State's anti-abortion laws have pushed the state higher on one national groups annual list of most pro-life states. Americans United for Life ranked Arkansas the 3rd most pro-life state in the nation.

Newly passed 12 and 20 week abortion bans helped Arkansas jump up the list, something the the president of Family Council is proud of.

In a statement on the ranking, Jerry Cox wrote:

"For them to look at every law from every state and decide Arkansas is one of the top three states in the country when it comes to protecting human life says a lot about how much Arkansans value people."

Meanwhile, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is battling both new laws in court. "People see it as a private decision they want the government out of it, it is a small government kind of belief," says Rita Sklar, Executive Director of ACLU of Arkansas.

Sklar says they're waiting for a judge to rule on the constitutionality of the 12 week ban and expect a response any day now.
