HOT SPRINGS, AR - Live racing returns to Hot Springs with the opening of Oaklawn’s 2014 live meet Friday, Jan. 10 and greeting fans will be some of the most competitive racing in the country, especially in the 3-year-old ranks.
Overall, the 57-day meet will offer more than $20 million in purses and 31 stakes, highlighted by the 78th running of the $1 million Arkansas Derby (G1) April 12.
The schedule is Thursday through Sunday with a post time of 1:30 p.m. on weekdays and Sundays and 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
There will be special Monday racing on Jan. 20 and Feb. 17. with a 1 p.m. post time.

MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 20 – Free Oaklawn Baseball Cap (with paid admission, while supplies last), $150,000 The Smarty Jones

Saturday, March 15 – Boat & Truck Giveaway, $600,000 The Rebel
Racing Festival of the South runs Saturday, April 5 – Saturday, April 12 and culminates with the $1M Arkansas Derby.
Earlier this week, Oaklawn announced the launch of OaklawnAnywhere.com, which allows Arkansas residents an innovative way to watch and wager on the races through their smart phones, tablets and personal computers.
