Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have sent pitcher Kyle Haynes to the New York Yankees to complete the deal for catcher Chris Stewart.
Haynes spent last season in Single-A where he went 1-5 with a 2.38 ERA. He started the season as a reliever but switched to a starter for his final eight appearances.
The Pirates acquired Stewart from the Yankees in exchange for a player to be named later on Dec. 2. Stewart appeared in a career-high 109 games in 2013 and batted .211 with four homers and 25 runs batted in.
