Police Catch Bank Robbery Suspect after Short Chase

Robbery occurred around 10 a.m. Friday.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police captured a bank robbery suspect Friday after he tried to run away.

According to the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD), officers responded to Centennial Bank shortly after 10 a.m. Friday after receiving reports of a robbery.

The LRPD incident report says a bank teller told officers that the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Michael Davis, walked in with a black stocking cap and dark scarf wrapped around his face, then handed her a note telling her it was a robbery.

The teller told police she noticed a bulge that was possibly a weapon under the suspect's clothing at the small of his back, and handed him an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect then ran through the south door and to the west.

LRPD says Davis was later arrested after a short foot pursuit in the 400 block of East Sixth Street.

He was taken to the Pulaski County Jail, where he was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property.
