FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Despite a career-high 23 points from junior Rashad Madden and a double-double by senior Coty Clarke, the Arkansas men’s basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 84-82 loss in overtime against No. 10/11 Florida at Bud Walton Arena on Saturday afternoon in front of a crowd of 18,040 fans.

The Razorbacks led by seven, 64-57, with just under five minutes to play in regulation, but the Gators closed on a 9-2 run, highlighted by Scottie Wilbekin’s contested-runner with two seconds left, to force overtime. Florida built an eight-point lead, 77-69, with 1:16 to play in the extra frame, but Arkansas rallied back to cut it to a one-possession deficit with the ball, but couldn’t come up with the game-tying three.

Florida (13-2, 2-0) is the first team since Feb. 28, 2012, to win at Bud Walton Arena, snapping the Razorbacks’ (11-4, 0-2) 23-game home win streak that included nine in a row against SEC foes.

Keys To The Contest
In overtime, Florida knocked down 10-of-14 from the free throw line, including 6-of-8 by Wilbekin, and held Arkansas scoreless on six of its first seven possessions to build its largest lead of the game. The Gators finished the game 25-of-34 from the charity stripe compared to an 18-of-27 performance by the Razorbacks.

Led by Wilbekin’s 18 point points, which featured nine in overtime, the Florida bench out-scored Arkansas 32-18. It marked just the third time this season (1-2) that the Razorbacks have been out-scored off the pine.

Coach Anderson Postgame Sound:
"That was a great ballgame. We played in front of great fans and we felt like we let them down a little bit. It wasn't from a lack of effort though. We had our opportunities, whether it be at the free throw line, getting turnovers or key stops. It's a team learning how to win against very good basketball teams and Florida is a very good basketball team."
