Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rockies and reliever Matt Belisle have each exercised a mutual option for the 2014 season, the team announced Monday.
Belisle, who will earn $4.25 million for the upcoming campaign, has spent the past five seasons as a core member of the Rockies' bullpen and compiled a 5-7 record with a 4.32 earned run average over 72 appearances in 2013. The veteran right-hander has pitched in at least 72 games in each of the last four years.
The 33-year-old has gone 28-25 with a 3.70 ERA and four saves during his tenure in Colorado. Over 10 major league seasons with the Rockies and Cincinnati Reds, Belisle owns a 44-47 record with a 4.37 ERA in 458 games, all but 43 of which have come in relief.
