Savannah, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Savannah State football will play three FBS opponents and five home games as part of its 12-game 2014 schedule announced on Thursday.
The Tigers, who have won two or fewer games in 14 of the last 15 seasons, will open at Conference USA member Middle Tennessee State on Aug. 30 and transitioning Sun Belt Conference member Georgia Southern on Sept. 6, and wrap up the regular season against FBS independent program Brigham Young on Nov. 22.
Coach Earnest Wilson III's squad also will play Division II Fort Valley State in its lone home non-conference games.
Within the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, the Tigers will host Norfolk State (Oct. 4, Homecoming), defending champion Bethune-Cookman (Oct. 18), Howard (Nov. 8) and North Carolina A&T (Nov. 15).
Their road conference games are against Delaware State (Sept. 27), Florida A&M (Oct. 11), North Carolina Central (Oct. 25) and South Carolina State (Nov. 1).
