FAYETTEVILLE, AR (KNWA) - The search is on for a new school athletic director in Fayetteville.
The district has officially accepted the resignation of former A.D. Barry Gebhart after his arrest in October. Detectives arrested Gebhart in Benton County on a felony charge of internet stalking of a child.
Fayetteville high school's principal is now serving as interim athletic director. Allan Wilbourn, with the Fayetteville School District, says there are 18 applicants for the position, which closes Nov. 26.
Interviews will start after the Thanksgiving break. The district hopes to have the position filled within the next few weeks.
