Searcy Police Investigate Shooting

One person is injured after a shooting occurred this afternoon.
SEARCY, AR -- A person was shot in the leg and ended up in the hospital after an incident on South Pecan Street around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to reports, officers with the Searcy Police Department were called to the residence after a shooting was reported.

Upon arrival, witness informed them two black males had approached a white, four-door passenger car and fired multiple rounds from a handgun into the car.

The white car then drove away and the two black males fled, witnesses said. Officers found the victim in the emergency room of the White County Medical Center soon after the incident with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Around 5 p.m., law enforcement officials found two black males matching the descriptions of the suspects hiding in an apartment. The two men were taken into custody for questioning, but no charges have been filed yet.
