LITTLE ROCK, AR - Light sleet is falling in parts of Arkansas this afternoon.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock says a storm system continues to advance across the state and is expected to bring mainly light rain.
As of 1:30 p.m., surface temperatures were in the mid 30s to mid 40s across Arkansas but some sleet pellets were falling when the precipitation starts and the air mass cools.
The NWS says no accumulations of sleet are expected and all precipitation will quickly change over to just rain as the afternoon wears on.
Forecasters say there could be a brief period of snow across north Arkansas tonight and early Saturday as the system leaves the state.
