Some Parents Question Decision for Districts to Resume Class Tuesday

Districts defend decision.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Students in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County Special School Districts saw their four-day weekend come to an end Tuesday morning, as classes resumed after last week's winter storm.

But some parents felt maybe school should have been closed Tuesday, even taking their concerns to the FOX16 Facebook page.

Other parents say they were fine with the decision to open, but thought the starting time should have been pushed back a little.

"It was just a lot of black ice, and I kind of slipped and slide getting him to school and he was late, so probably delay," says parent Scealita Dubose.

Superintendents Dr. Jerry Guess of PCSSD and Kelly Rogers of North Little Rock say they conferred with Dexter Suggs of LRSD and made a final decision to open schools Tuesday after personally driving some of the hardest hit areas.
