Springdale Man Gets 15 Years for Downloading Child Porn

Upon further investigation, it was revealed Yager had more than 100 videos of minors engaged in sexual activity.
FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- A convicted sex offender was sentenced to 15 years behind bars on Friday for downloading child pornography.

Anthony Yager, 49, of Springdale, will also be supervised by United States Probation for 25 years after his release and was ordered to pay a $15,000 fine.

During the sentencing, U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge said:

“Victimizing innocent children is horrendous and inexcusable, and this Defendant willfully chose to continue this illicit behavior in spite of being previously convicted," Eldridge said.  "Every time a video or image involving sexual abuse of children is downloaded or viewed, those children are re-victimized.  Thanks to the hard work of each of the agencies involved, this Defendant was brought to justice, and we will continue to aggressively prosecute cases such as this and hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.”

Court records show members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Northwest Arkansas executed a search warrant in December 2012 at Yager's home in Springdale.

During the search of his home, a laptop was confiscated. Upon further investigation, it was revealed Yager had more than 100 videos of minors engaged in sexual activity.

Yager pleaded guilty to downloading child porn in May. Yager was previously convicted of first-degree sexual abuse and was required to register as a sex offender during the commission of the new offense, according to a release.

This case was investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Springdale Police Department.

Assistant United States Attorney Dustin Roberts prosecuted the case for the United States
