Three Die in Separate Accidents Sunday

Deadly traffic accidents reported in Fort Smith, Camden and Hope.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Three people are dead after separate accidents on Sunday.

The first one happened in Fort Smith, just before 1:00 a.m.

An Arkansas State Police (ASP) accident report states that Nathaniel DeJarnett, 20, of Wellington, Kansas, died when he was hit by a 1992 Chevrolet on North Greenwood Ave.

Troopers say the vehicle was trying to turn left and drove toward the middle left turn lane, striking DeJarnett, who was standing in the center turn lane.

The second deadly accident happened shortly after 10 a.m. in Camden.

Sadie Micka Wactor, 18, of Louann, died when her 1998 Toyota went off U.S. 278, west of Camden and overturned. The accident report notes it was raining at the time.

She was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital.

The third fatal accident on Sunday in Arkansas happened just before 8 p.m. in Hope.

The ASP accident report states that Federico C. Flores, 42, of Hope, was driving a 2005 Saturn east on Avenue F and trying to turn left onto Hervey St. when his vehicle collided with a 2010 Freightliner headed south on Hervey St. The Flores vehicle overturned after the impact he was pronounced dead at a Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Jonathan E. Barbaree, 23, of Hope, was not injured.
