Two Trick-or-treaters Hit by Car in Jefferson County

Thursday night incident happened on Highway 79 near the Pinewood subdivision.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AR - The Arkansas State Police is investigating after two trick-or-treaters were hit by a vehicle on Halloween night.

It happened on Highway 79 near the Pinewood subdivision, south of Pine Bluff.
 
Troopers say Megan Sperry, 23, had parked her car across the highway and was walking across it with Justin Lindsey, 5, when both were struck.

The woman and boy were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff and were still hospitalized late Friday morning. The ASP says the boy had head injuries and the woman had unspecified injuries to her body. Both are expected to recover.  

According to State Police, no citations were issued after the accident. The driver, Michaela Montgomery, told troopers it was a dark area and she didn't see the victims.
