SEARCY, AR - The White County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has made two arrests in a November home invasion.
Rhonda Bishop, 36, of Searcy and Frederick Barber, 28, of McCrory are charged in the Nov. 2. incident at a home on Campground Rd. in Beebe.
On that evening around 10:30, deputies say the homeowner told them a woman he didn't know knocked on his door and told him that her car had broken down and she needed to use a phone. When the woman was allowed to use the phone, two mwn armed with handguns then came into the house and demanded “money in a safe.”
The homeowner told deputies he had a small safe hidden, which he gave to the suspects and they left. A search of the area failed to locate the trio.
The WCSO then released composite drawings of the suspects, which led detectives to Bishop and Barber. Both have been charged with aggravated residential burglary and theft of property. Bond for each suspect has been set at $150,000.
Additional arrests are anticipated with this investigation as it continues.
