LITTLE ROCK, AR -- In a special FOX 16 report, Susanne Brunner investigates the need for more Spanish speaking police officers in Little Rock. Currently five officers on the force can speak spanish, and they're serving a Hispanic community of about 30,000.
We learned many Hispanics don't bother calling police when they see crimes happening in their neighborhood because either they fear deportation, they fear they will get in trouble, and fear no one at the police department can communicate with them.
Here's more to the interview with Little Rock Police Officer Jacob Tobler that you didn't see in the full report. He explains what both sides can do to overcome the obstacles they face.
