Winter Weather Closes Little Rock Road

Conditions turn icy in some areas of the city.
1:15 p.m. update:
Since 8:25 a.m. there have been 6 accidents reported in the city. Only two callers stated there were minor injuries.

There are no additional road closures. Officers are reporting slippery road conditions on various streets throughout the city and are requesting the city's salt and sand crews to clear those areas.

The call load is light and that is helping with the response time to the calls that are being dispatched.

(Original story:)
LITTLE ROCK, AR - As a wintry mix of precipitation continues to fall across the city, at least one street is being shutdown.

Travel along the very hilly Reservoir Road on the city's west side has been determined too dangerous to keep it open.

Police have put up barriers and shutdown the road from Cantrell Rd. to Rodney Parham Rd.

There will likely be other road closings. Keep checking this page for updated information.

Little Rock Police report only two possibly weather-related accidents (as of 9 a.m.):
  • 65th & University (vehicle slid into the median). No injuries.
  • Cantrell Hill (vehicle slid into curb). No injuries.
