The City of North Little Rock has decided to use dogs to control the goose population in Burns Park instead of having a hunt.

The coalition to save the geese of Burns Park convinced the North Little Rock city council to introduce dogs as an alternative to a hunt to get the hundreds of geese out of Burns Park. .

The City of North Little Rock is considering 20 proposals submitted as alternatives to a goose hunt in Burns Park to help reduce the goose population.

The Burns Park geese have a reprieve for now, but the hunters who qualified for the hunt are still required to attend an orientation training course in case it's rescheduled.

North Little Rock has suspended the Goose Hunt originally scheduled for Dec 20th.
