Eddie Meador, former Russellville Cyclone (1953-55) & ATU Wonder Boy (1955-59), has been nominated for the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2010, Senior category. Meador played 12 seasons for the Los Angeles Rams as a Defensive Back, he achieved the same level of play as other secondary men in the Hall of Fame. He was named to the All-Decade Team for the 1960's, he was selected for six Pro Bowls, he was All-Pro five times and still holds the Rams' All-Time Interceptions Record, which is remarkable considering teams in the 60's didn't throw the ball as often. Other accomplishments and awards can be found on various NFL archives as well as the Meador website his children had created for him.
Meador's children are currently campaigning for him to hopefully get him inducted into the Hall. The website that has been created for Meador is www.edmeador21.com. His family invite you to take a few moments to view it & read about him. Biography, Awards & Stats, Fun Facts, Photos and Personal information can be found on this website. The family also asks you help spread the word by forwarding the website to your family and friends and if you want, even send in your letter of recommendation for Meador to the Hall. A person may do this through the "How to Nominate" link on the www.edmeador21.com website. The Senior Committee begins reviewing the list of nominees mid-April and will make their final decision in June. During this process, they will also be reviewing the nominations/recommendations sent in by the public.
Eddie Meador is considered such a positive role model, teammate, leader & friend to all who know him - especially his former teammates & men he played against in the NFL. He is very deserving of this honor.
