CONWAY, AR -- Local leaders treating this recent weather event as a tornado, regardless of what happens.

The Faulkner County judge says he's getting crews ready for a real event by using this weather event as training.

Sandbags can be picked up at the county road department and used by people living in the area who are dealing with flooding issues, if that becomes a problem.

The Sheriff's Department Emergency Squad is also prepared keeping all crews on standby and prepping equipment ahead of the storm.

Sherri Proctor said, "Every event, anything we go on, we use as a training event or search and recovery event so we take everything that we go out to do as something learned."

The Faulkner County Judge says he'll even put spotters around the county checking for tornadoes, but he's hopeful nothing will be spotted tonight and this will just be good practice.

Faulkner County officials suggest if you haven't already done it, sign up for the Code Red program so you can get texts on all weather alerts in your area.
