NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Winter weather is keeping wrecker services busy working big rig wrecks in Central Arkansas.

While they enjoy the business, Jackson Wrecker Service owners say this winter has been longer and more grueling than most.

The service worked about 10 accidents Monday, clearing wrecks from the highway, many along I-40 including a big crash between two 18-wheelers near Burns Park.

It takes their crew about an hour to clear the massive scene. When road conditions are hazardous their goal is to clear distracting accident scenes so people can have fewer distractions and get off the roads sooner.

Robert Eugene Jackson says, "We turn our sirens on, we get in the shoulders, we tell people get out the way, we get traffic clear on the highways to prevent other wrecks from happening."

The company has been open more than 28 years and the owner says this season has been one of their busiest, meaning one of the worst for drivers.
