More Winter Weather Expected in AR Tuesday

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Another round of winter weather is on its way to Arkansas.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock says while the forecast will continue to be fine tuned throughout the day tomorrow, there is a potential for ice on Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Tuesday morning freezing rain will move into western Arkansas before coming to an end in eastern Arkansas Tuesday night. Meteorologust Greg Dee says the timing of the storm will be between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The NWS says the highest accumulations will be across northern Arkansas with ice totals less than a quarter of an inch. Across western Arkansas less than a tenth of an inch of ice is forecast.

Across central and south Arkansas temperatures will start the day below freezing and any precipitation falling during that time will be in the form of freezing rain. By late morning temperatures should rise above freezing with precipitation returning to rain, negating any ice accumulations. Temperatures will fall back below freezing during the early evening hours with no significant accumulation expected.
