Her work there earned her a Texas Associated Press Broadcasters’ Award for General Assignment reporting. She also anchored the market’s #1-rated morning news program.

Cassandra then went on to anchor and produce the 5 p.m. news program at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia.

From there, Cassandra worked for an online news organization in Washington, D.C. Several stories she wrote during the 2016 presidential election reached millions of readers.

Cassandra then headed to Sacramento, California where she managed Special Projects for KTXL-FOX 40.
Her work in Sacramento on behalf of a family desperate for their loved one’s remains to return home from WW2 earned her the prestigious Large Market Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Feature Reporting.
It’s also at KTXL where she earned an Associated Press Television and Radio Association Award for Best Public Service for her story about frustrated military families living in hazardous conditions on Travis AFB.

Cassandra was born and raised in the small Texas border town of Del Rio. She earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism from Angelo State University.
