2 Arrested in Benton Shoplifting Case, Face Multiple Charges

BENTON, Ark. – A local man and woman are jailed on a string of charges after being arrested in the 
investigation of a shoplifting.

The Benton Police Department says Brittany Spades, 24, and Timothy Hughes, 33, were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon near Springhill Road in Bryant. 

Spades faces charges of Forgery 2nd, Forgery 1st, Theft of Property, Possession of a Forgery Device, Financial Identity Fraud, Fraudulent Use of a Debit/Credit Card, Shoplifting, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Hughes faces charges of Theft of Property and Fraudulent Use of a Debit/Credit Card. 

The BNPD says Spades has multiple warrants from other agencies. The investigations are ongoing and there could be more charges filed.
