2 suspects arrested in connection to Paragould shooting

PARAGOULD, Ark. – Two suspects are in custody following a Friday night shooting that injured one.  

The suspects were identified as John Sims, 18, of Blytheville, and Michael A. Harris, 26, of Paragould, as reported by KAIT Region 8 News. 

The Paragould Police Department’s criminal investigations division, street crimes unit and patrol worked to follow up on leads throughout the weekend, according to a news release from the department. 

Sims and Harris appeared in court for hearings today. 

Paragould Emergency Services began receiving multiple 911 calls at around 8:12 p.m. of shots being fired in the area of the 500 block of N. 4th Street. 

Officers found one victim, who was initially treated by officers at the scene for a minor injury and then taken by EMS to a hospital for treatment.
