LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A man found shot in the stomach in the parking lot of the Kroger near the intersection of Rodney Parham and West Markham on Sunday afternoon has died from his injuries.
Officers were able to transport 23-year-old Xavier Crosby to a nearby hospital after the shooting that happened just before 4 p.m.
Crosby told investigators that he was supposed to meet a man in the parking lot, but was instead shot by the suspect who then left.
A worker at Kroger heard the shots being fired and was able to locate the victim before contacting the police.
The Crosby went into surgery soon after arriving at the hospital but succumbed to those injuries overnight.
His body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy
The investigation is ongoing.
