New Info: Pulaski County Woman Stabbed in Back

PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. - A local woman is jailed on a charge of Domestic Battery after being accused of stabbing another woman Tuesday night.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says it happened at a home in the 2300 block of 145th St. near Wrightsville.

Deputies were called to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. and reported finding the victim in the kitchen area of the home. The incident report states a witness to the incident was holding a towel on the woman's one-inch wound trying to stop the bleeding. Deputies noted a small puddle of blood on the floor.

The woman told investigators that she had argued with her girlfriend before the other woman hit her with a large stick and then stabbed her in the lower back with a knife before running away from the home.

A K-9 handler with the Little Rock Police Department and K-9 Brix were called in to search for the suspect. The police dog found her a short time later on Marshfield Court hiding in some shrubs.

Anna Marie Leonard, 31, was then placed under arrest. Her booking record on the Pulaski County Jail website also notes a hold for parole.

The injured woman was taken to UAMS in Little Rock. There's no further information on her condition.
