Sebastian County Deputy Coroner Arrested for DWI

SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA) -- One of Sebastian County's deputy coroners was arrested Friday for driving while intoxicated.

James Mitch Brewer, a Lavaca resident, was arrested Friday by Arkansas State Police for DWI, first-offense, according to Sebastian County Detention Center booking records.

Brewer bonded out on a $1,000 signature bond.

Sebastian County Coroner Kenneth Hobbs said Brewer is one of three deputy coroners for Sebastian County.

Hobbs works as an on-call deputy coroner and has tended to two-three calls in the past year and a half.

A deputy coroner is not an elected official.
