TEXARKANA, Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Texas man is dead, and a Texarkana child is recovering from both a gunshot wound and a car wreck after a shooting that happened on Sunday night.

Texarkana Arkansas police initially responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Pinehurst and Grove St. at 7:09 p.m. Officers say between 60 to 100 cars lined up on the streets in both lanes of traffic due to a community event in the neighborhood. The child was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle after the crash occurred. Officers say their injuries are not life-threatening.
