WATCH: Wild Police Chase in Northwest Arkansas

TONTITOWN, Ark. (KNWA) - A Siloam Springs man is facing a string of charges after driving away from a traffic stop and leading an officer on a wild police chase.

It started Tuesday afternoon along Henri De Tonti Blvd. in Tontitown (Washington County) and ended miles away.

Police say Oscar Saucedo, 29, was pulled over for an expired license plate and also didn't have his driver's license with him.

While the officer waited for Saucedo to find his registration and insurance, the officer noted he could "briefly smell the odor of marijuana."

Saucedo reportedly told the officer there was no odor and said the vehicle belonged to his brother and his brother used to smoke.

When the officer asked him to get out of the vehicle he said 'Nope, see ya' and drove off, according to an arrest affidavit.

The chase continued onto Hwy. 412 and ended when the man drove off of South Barrington Rd. and into a pond.

Charges filed against Saucedo include: fleeing, improper passing on left, reckless driving, driving left of center, failure to stop at red light and criminal mischief.
