Last season, the Episcopal Collegiate Wildcats lost just one game in conference play, finished with an overall record of 12-2, and advanced to class 3-A state semifinals.
The Wildcats have 5 returners coming back on defense, 4 on offense but 3 of those 4 are at skills positions, and those skill guys, they know how to win.
“It’s not just experience, I mean it’s quality experience. It’s winning experience,” said third year head coach Richie Marsh.
“Those guys are 22-5 in the last two years and they’ve grown a lot they’ve matured a lot and they’ve developed a leadership role from a young age. And so they’re taking on added duties as leaders and responsibilities and getting us to the next level and they’re doing a very good job of that.”
Senior receiver Allie Freeman said, “I’m excited. Really excited. We have a young team but we also have some veterans that have been in the program so we’re not as big as we were last year but we hope to be more athletic and faster this year. We’ll definitely have some veteran guys out there and be able to move the ball and that’s where our strengths lie.”
