LITTLE ROCK, AR – A Little Rock man is recovering from a foot injury after being dragged by a stolen vehicle down the freeway.

It happened last night near downtown Little Rock when a GMC Suburban was taken from the parking lot of a gas station on East 6th Street.

The victim, Antonio Beasley, 41, told police he had stepped from the SUV to help a woman with car trouble when the suspect, Darrick Foots, 38, of North Little Rock jumped in and started to drive off.

Beasley tried to reach through the driver’s side window and get the keys and was hanging from the door when Foots ignored his screams to stop. Foots instead sped up, got on Interstate 30 and headed to North Little Rock.

Beasley told officers he hung on despite Foots swerving the vehicle trying to fling him off.

A North Little Rock police officer on patrol saw Beasley dangling from the vehicle as both were crossing the river bridge and pulled it over.

Beasley was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The extent of his injury wasn’t known.

Foots was taken to jail and charged with aggravated robebry and theft of property.
