JONESBORO, AR –(KAIT) A Jonesboro man faces multiple drug charges after police say they found him with a pound of meth.

Second Judicial Drug Task Force Agents arrested 31-year-old Robert Wayne Thigpen at the Willow Creek Apartments on South Caraway Thursday on a warrant for delivery of methamphetamine.

During the raid, officers “seized a pound of methamphetamine, a quantity of prescription drugs and more than $7,000 in cash,” according to a news release from the Jonesboro Police Department.

DTF agents estimate the value of the meth at $15,000 if purchased in a lump sum.

“Had the drug been divided into one-gram quantities and sold on the street, the aggregate value would be $47,500,” DTF agents said.

“This is a significant seizure of drugs,” said JPD Public Information Specialist, Paul Holmes.

“By the gram, as methamphetamine is sold, that is 448 grams, so that’s a lot of misery the drug task force has gotten off the streets.”

As of Friday morning officers were working to identify the prescription medications seized in the raid.

Officers also found a set of scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Thigpen is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center pending a probable cause hearing on charges of delivery of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Thigpen is also a parole absconder, the release said.
